Early American Business Schools: In America, legal education initially followed the English model, with apprenticeships being the primary route to becoming a lawyer. Harvard Law School, founded in 1817, is considered the first professional law school in the United States. This institution, and others that followed, began formalizing the study of law into a structured curriculum.
